Hello, Muse Poets!
Welcome to May! We would like to share a story with you about a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who overcame an intense period of burnout by taking up a simple hobby—birdwatching. As writers and artists, most of us are affected each time we dive into the news cycle, and we can feel drained when we put pressure on ourselves to continuously create and get our work out into the world. Can taking a walk and noting the song sparrow rustling in the rhododendron recalibrate and reenergize us? Science journalist and writer Ed Yong (Edmund Soon-Weng Yong) says yes, and he encourages us to become birders!
