We are always on the search for fascinating and pertinent articles on art and creativity, as most Weekly Muse subscribers are highly-creative people interested in sharing their art and writing in the larger community. We came across several spellbinding interviews with writer Nick Hornby, who has written a book titled Dickens and Prince: A Particular Kind of Genius. Just to be clear, the two geniuses being compared are Charles Dickens (the great English novelist of the Victorian era) and Prince (the American singer-songwriter and musician who won numerous awards and who, in a dispute with his record label, changed his name to a symbol, becoming “The Artist Formerly Known As Prince”).
Hornby came up with the idea to compare the two artists when he was reading an article about how Prince would work on multiple songs and projects at one time—and he would work very quickly without a lot of revising. In other words, Prince was not a perfectionist despite the calibe…
