Summer is approaching, and perhaps you will have the opportunity to do a bit of traveling at some point over the next few months. By travel, we mean everything from vising Europe or Asia to spending a week with relatives living in the next state to enjoying a day or a few hours in a town or county park that is within an hour of your home. Our definition of travel simply means going just a bit beyond your usual home turf. Whether you are flying twelve hours to Cairo or spending an afternoon hiking on a local trail, consider taking a few moments at some point in your trip to write a travelogue—an account of where you are visiting, what you see, the people you meet, your impressions, etc.
A travelogue can be a rich source of inspiration for your poems or any other writing and art that you might do. Here are a few helpful tips to consider when you jot down a travelogue entry:
