This past Wednesday (June 21st) we officially entered the summer season—the perfect opportunity to rewild yourself and your creativity. What is rewilding? In the environmental realm, rewilding is a form of ecological restoration and conservation with the aim of returning natural habitats to their original form. Rewilding can include re-introducing native animal and plant species and perhaps removing and relocating invasive species. It can also include restoring waterways and cleaning up any humanmade objects/issues that are negatively impacting the land. By restoring natural ecological processes, rewilding can improve biodiversity in an ecosystem and its overall resilience.
In applying the above definition of rewilding to the human psyche, we can find ways to revert back to a more natural state of being as we let go of some of the conditioning we have undergone in order to be a productive citizen within a society. Rewilding, in our case, does not mean becomin…
