We love sharing the uplifting stories that we come across. Recently, we saw several articles about the Rabbit Hole, a newly opened museum of children's literature located in North Kansas City, Missouri, in a building that used to be a tin can factory. The museum was founded by Pete Cowdin and Deb Pettid, former bookstore owners and long-married artists who dedicated ten years to creating this interactive space. The Rabbit Hole does not feature typical children’s museum elements like touch screens or ball pits but instead focuses on life-sized, book-themed dioramas that encourage interactive play and reading.
The building of the museum has been a community effort, with many local artists and fabricators contributing to the construction and decoration of the forty life-size dioramas, depicting famous scenes from children’s books.
