Hello, Writers!

Here we are at the end of July! We hope you are having summertime experiences that are relaxing, joy-filled, adventurous—in other words, moments that make you feel alive and grateful. We recently came across an interesting article on the benefits of “savoring.” You might immediately think of consuming good things—that amazing pasta sauce cooked up by your great aunt, a triple chocolate brownie from a local bakery, a fantastic cup of black coffee at the drive-through expresso stand. Yes—those are all savory and delicious, but psychologists have discovered that “savoring” uplifting experiences (in addition to good food!) can deepen satisfaction and happiness, significantly bolstering positive moods. When your mind is savoring a wonderful moment, anxiety and stress tend to disappear, and your mental and physical health is enhanced.
