We hope your January is proving to be a successful month in terms of your writing/artistic life. As we’ve told you before, we are always on the lookout for good ideas when it comes to integrating poetry and creativity into our daily routines. We recently came across an inspiring suggestion by writer Elliott Holt—on the first day of each month she chooses a poem that she finds intriguing (or a poem she loves), and she reads this particular poem every day for the entire month. After she completed her first month of reading the same poem each day, she stated, Repetition led to revelation: Every day, I noticed new things in the text. By the end of the month, I knew the poem by heart.
