Hello, Writers and Poets!

In the Weekly Muse we not only enjoy offering writing/publishing tips and ideas to inspire your creativity, but we also love to share uplifting stories which involve the literary world. We came across an article last month in The New York Times about a young, inspirational librarian in Solano County, California.

Mychal Threets, age 33, is the supervising librarian at the Fairfield Civic Center Library. Threets certainly breaks the stereotype of the rigid, stern, and shushing library worker—he uses his social media accounts (TikTok and Instagram) to spread what he refers to as “library joy.” Threets’ posts have garnered millions of views, and he has hundreds of thousands of social media followers who enjoy his stories about the daily happenings at the Fairfield Library. Threets states:

Most of the time I’m just retelling library interactions, library stories. And then, apart from that, I just try to give people messages of hope.
