Hello Writers, Poets, and Artists!
It will be 2024 at midnight! We have an interesting exercise for you to try as the new year begins to unfold. It will offer you some fresh insight and perspective, will gently “shake-up” your usual routines and thought patterns, and will be both inspiring and fun—perfect pursuits for January.
You are probably familiar with Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, which is one of the best books you can read for discovering and activating your creative potential. Cameron gives sound advice about nurturing your inner artist and outer artist, offers creativity exercises, and is a proponent of the “morning pages,” in which you write three stream-of-consciousness pages in your journal first thing in the morning—anything and everything that pops into your mind.
