Hello Poets and Writers!
Although many of us feel as if we have emerged from the “pandemic blues” (and emerging from plenty of social and political issues, depending on where we live in the world), for some, there is still a lingering sense of uncertainty, sadness, and the “blahs.” We might wonder why we haven’t fully recovered the zeal and enthusiasm we felt prior to 2020. We could call it a sort of “existential crisis” as we strive to rediscover inherent value and meaning in our lives. Over the past couple of years, we not only went through uncertainty and perhaps loss on various levels, but we witnessed a disruption in our societal structures. We also had to sort through conflicting information and narratives—all while trying to maintain our sense of hope in the future.
In thinking about how to continue to rekindle our hope and enthusiasm, we are reminded of a term that was coined in a book titled, All Things Shining by Hubert Dreyfus and Sean Dorrance Kelly, which deals with the los…
